Among the picturesque Tuscan hills, in the heart of the Maremma lowland, in the village of Campagnatico is the Agriturismo Aiola etstae. It is about 10 km from Grosetto, about 30 km from the Tyrrhenian Sea and about 150 km from Florence.
Agriturismo Aiola consists of three renovated, Tuscan-style apartments in a 19th century stone building. Archi and Giare are 6-bed, large 125-meter apartments located ina two-storey building, adjacent to each other, separated by a wall. Each of them is equipped with a dining room with a stone kitchen and a stone fireplace, a living room, a bedroom for one person and a bathroom with shower; on the first floor, in turn, they have a double bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with a bath and shower. The third of the apartments, Portico, 48m2 is designed for 3 people; it consists of a dining room with kitchenette and a spacious toilet with shower, designed for people in a wheelchair.
While the hosts of Agriturismo Aiola don't cook for their guests, they do offer tasting of local products such as extra virgin olive oil, wine, honey and cheese.
The biggest advantage of Agriturismo Aiola is that each of the apartments has its own garden and a veranda and access to the shared swimming pool. In addition, the nearby areas are an ideal place for walking and cycling trips, horse rides and kayaking on the Ombrone River. Not to mention the breathtaking views.
The agriturismo Aiola also includes activities for the youngest - they can have fun on the playground.
The area around Agriturismo Aiola is primarily a remnant of history. The most interesting places include the archeolgical site of Roselle in Grosseto - ancient ruins, the Gli Albori - archaeological site, as well as Piazza Dante - the main square in Grosseto and of course the Duomo di San Lorenzo cathedral from the 12th century. In the local region there are also wineries and vineyards in places such as Cinigiano and and the 1 hour drive to Montalcino.
