Attractions in the area
There is no doubt that tourists are attracted the most by two famous salt mines - Bochnia and Wieliczka. In the first of them, in addition to guided tours, you can, among others go on a boat trip and play basketball on the underground pitch. In turn, Wieliczka can boast above all beautiful chapels (Chapel of St. Kinga, Chapel of St. John).
In Lipnica Murowana and its vicinity, there are several interesting monuments. The most important sacral objects include the Church of St. Leonard (inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List) and places being part of the Wooden Architecture Route. There are also many castles, of which the most interesting are: the seventeenth-century Castle in Wiśnicz (housing the Museum of Wiśnicz Land), ruins of the castle in Czchów developed between the 13th and 16th centuries, and the Tropsztyn Castle in Wytrzyszczce. It is also worth seeing the unique Museum of Jan Matejka's memorabilia "Koryznówka", as well as the picturesque vineyard in Chronów.
